Dewsbury and District Cricket League

We see the end of a very hard season again.

i wish all the teams the best for the new season may the best team win. There is allot of tough competitive team this year it going to be long drawn out season.

Many improvements have been made from the last season new rules and regulation have been put in place to help improve the league.

This year there are 16 teams in the league and hopefully their will be two division next year.

A new chair as been elected and will be announced at the next meeting

Umpires fees have increased to recruit more umpires.

Umpires will be given report cards to report any incidents during the games

All teams have been given new scorers information sheets for the scorers so there is no confusion on the pitch regarding signals of the umpire.

The next league meeting will be on the 13th of March at 6.30pm at PKWA

A new secretary was elected at the last meeting(M.Lubsir Latif) hope this works for him and all the teams in the league and the league itself.

Allot of work needs to be done to improve the league such as sponsors, advertisement and a sponsor for the cup games which will be played on Sundays..

Allot of help is needed for it to succeed there is a little amount of money in the pot so it will take a long time for it be back on its feet.

The Umpire fee has gone up from last year this it is 20 pounds each umpire or if they is only one umpire on the day it is 30 pounds

The season as started slowly and the cricket pitches are still wet .From the intial games there is no clear winner or loser.There are many game to be played so it will be up to the captains how they shape there teams and improve proformance.

This year there is no weak team within the league and ever game will have to be fought to be won.
